'Pihak ketiga cuba tingkatkan konflik PAS?'
Sesetengah pemimpin PAS percaya bahawa tindakan keganasan terhadap ahli-ahli PAS baru-baru ini adalah satu petanda bahawa ada pihak ketiga yang cuba untuk meningkatkan konflik antara ahli parti itu. Ahli jawatankuasa pusat PAS, Khalid Samad percaya serangan ke atas rakannya Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad, semalam tidak membabitkan sesiapa dari PAS. Ketika dihubungi Malaysiakini, Khalid berkata, beliau tidak percaya ada ahli PAS yang berkelakuan sedemikian.
Sebaliknya, kata beliau, ia boleh jadi kerja pihak ketiga yang cuba untuk meningkatkan konflik antara ahli PAS, terutamanya menjelang pemilihan parti itu. Katanya, ini kerana "sentiasa ada kemungkinan" wujud gangguan pihak ketiga, terutama sejak debat dalaman parti itu, telah terdedah di media sosial. Oleh itu, katanya, tidak mustahil ada pihak yang akan mengambil kesempatan daripada keadaan itu. Pandangan ini juga turut dipersetujui oleh Ketua Pemuda PAS Suhaizan Kaiat, yang berkata ada pihak ketiga yang cuba untuk memecahkan PAS dengan mengambil kesempatan daripada perbezaan pendapat antara ahli parti. Katanya, beliau tidak menuduh sesiapa, tetapi percaya mereka yang bertanggungjawab terhadap insiden itu ialah mereka yang mempunyai niat untuk memecah belahkan PAS. Menurutnya lagi, perbezaan pendapat akan sentiasa wujud dalam mana-mana parti politik. Sebaliknya, pengarah pilihan raya PAS Hatta Ramli, berharap serangan terhadap Dzulkefly itu, dan juga kejadian keretanya dibakar, tidak ada sebarang kaitan. "Saya juga berharap ia tidak berkaitan dengan keadaan politik semasa, sama ada dalam negara atau dalam PAS," kata Hatta yang juga ahli Parlimen Kuala Krai.
Hatta berkata, apabila keretanya dibakar, beliau tidak membuat sebarang rujukan kepada mana-mana situasi politik, tetapi hanya bergantung kepada pihak polis untuk menyelesaikan siasatan. Beliau berharap pihak polis menjalankan siasatan rapi dan menentukan pelakunya (dalam kes Dzulkefly) bagi meyakinkan semua orang bahawa ia adalah satu insiden terpencil. Sebelum ini, kereta pacuan empat roda Hatta telah dibakar di hadapan rumahnya bulan lepas oleh seorang lelaki yang tidak dikenali. Dalam insiden terbaru semalam, Dzulkefly diserang oleh individu yang tidak dikenali ketika ia pulang dari solat subuh. [Baca berita penuh/asal]

Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin's statement regarding the controversial 1MDB seems to show a crack in the current Cabinet. – The Malaysian Insider filepic, March 6, 2015.The Cabinet might have tried to put up a united front over debt-heavy 1Malaysia Development Bhd's (1MDB) financial woes but it took Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin just 48 hours to crack that façade.His seven-paragraph statement tonight made three points not found in the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) statement on Wednesday which said, "Cabinet expressed confidence that no wrong-doing has been committed within 1MDB, and their desire for the company to be allowed to implement the proposed outcomes of its strategic review."Muhyiddin's points were simple for a company that reportedly sits on a RM51 billion asset base that can cover its RM42 billion debts.For him, there should not be any bailout of 1MDB if it involves public funds, the Auditor-General must verify 1MDB's accounts from 2009, and that the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) should carry out an independent probe.In the PMO statement, Prime Miinister Datuk Seri Najib Razak had informed the Cabinet that he has instructed the Auditor General to independently verify 1MDB's accounts."The Auditor General’s report will be passed for transparent inspection to the Public Accounts Committee, which is fully bipartisan and reflects Parliament’s composition," said the statement.“If any wrongdoing is proven, the law will be enforced without exception," it quoted the prime minister as saying.But Muhyiddin has taken matters further in asking for experts to assist the Auditor-General in conducting the audit in the shortest time possible for a complete and comprehensive report about 1MDB's finances, adding that a forensic audit must be done to ensure there was no financial irregularities in 1MDB's transactions.In one did not know better, it would appear that Muhyiddin was channelling the requests of Barisan Nasional's (BN) political opponents, Pakatan Rakyat (PR) in asking for a thorough investigation.Just a year ago, no one bothered to answer PR's complaints about 1MDB until former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad brought up the issue.The country's longest-serving prime minister even granted an interview to whistleblower website Sarawak Report on the matter.That was when it became a serious issue which the Cabinet then discussed when Najib was away from the country last December.In recent weeks, the Cabinet even demurred from confirming its minutes to give a RM3 billion cash injection to 1MDB, which has an advisory board chaired by Najib in his capacity as prime minister and finance minister.It would go down as the first time the Cabinet had rejected such a request from a prime minister for a government-owned company that needed some cash to tide over a cashflow problem.If that decision did not reflect fractures in Najib's Cabinet, tonight's statement by Muhyiddin clearly shows that there are elements in the ruling administration who are concerned the cost of 1MDB's financial woes.Bailing out 1MDB or exonerating the company from any wrongdoing is not on the agenda now, a far cry from the days when financial scandals were cleared by other government-owned entities or the national oil company.Muhyiddin is clear about that, even if it does not seem to be Putrajaya's stand. ‘Ex-Girlfriend Club’ กำลังได้รับการจับตามองในฐานะผลงานชิ้นแรกของ PD ควอนซอกจัง หลังจากลาออกจาก MBC ซึ่งเคยฝากผลงานการกำกับละครเรื่อง ‘Pasta’, ‘Golden Time’ โดยในกรณีที่ซงจีฮโยคอนเฟิร์มเข้าร่วมแสดง เธอก็จะเป็นนางเอกคนแรกที่จะมาร่วมงานกับ PD ซึ่งก็คาดว่าจะสร้างความสนใจเป็นอย่างมาก
อนึ่ง ‘Ex-Girlfriend Club’ มีกำหนดจะออกอากาศในเดือนพฤษภาคมนี้ ต่อจากละครเรื่อง ‘Super Daddy Yeol’

บริษัทด้านการแพทย์ในอเมริกา คิดค้นนวัตกรรมใหม่ที่สามารถเปลี่ยนสีตาของมนุษย์ ให้กลายเป็นสีฟ้าแบบถาวร
ปัจจุบันมีประชากรตาสีฟ้าทั่วโลกเพียง 17 เปอร์เซ็นต์เท่านั้น บริษัท สโตรมา เมดิคอล จึงบุกเบิกนวัตกรรมใหม่นั่นคือการเปลี่ยนสีตาของคนเรา จากดวงตาสีน้ำตาลก็สามารถเปลี่ยนให้กลายเป็นสีฟ้าได้แบบถาวร ด้วยวิธีการใช้เลเซอร์กำจัดเม็ดสีน้ำตาลออกจากส่วนบนของม่านตา ซึ่งสนนราคาอยู่ที่ประมาณ 160,000 บาท
นายแพทย์เกร็กก์ โฮเมอร์ เผยว่า ปกติแล้วคนที่มีดวงตาสีน้ำตาลตั้งแต่เกิด จะมีพื้นตาด้านล่างเป็นสีฟ้าอยู่แล้ว เพียงแค่ใช้เลเซอร์กำจัดเม็ดสีน้ำตาลออก ไม่กี่สัปดาห์ผ่านไปเราก็จะมีดวงตาเป็นสีฟ้า เขาบอกว่าตอนนี้ทางสโตรมา เมดิคอล อยากจะพัฒนากระบวนการเปลี่ยนสีตา ให้ปลอดภัย ราคาถูก และสะดวกสำหรับลูกค้า มากกว่าผู้ให้บริการอื่นๆ ในตลาด
ปัจจุบันการศัลยกรรมเปลี่ยนสีดวงตายังไม่ได้รับอนุญาตให้ทำได้ในสหรัฐอเมริกา เบื้องต้นบริษัทจึงต้องทำการศึกษาเพื่อแสดงให้เห็นว่า การศัลยกรรมนี้ปลอดภัย โดยตอนนี้มีชาวเม็กซิโก 17 คนและชาวคอสตาริก้า 20 คน เข้ารับการศัลยกรรมเปลี่ยนสีตา ขณะที่หลายฝ่ายวิพากษ์วิจารณ์ว่า ผู้เปลี่ยนสีดวงตาเสี่ยงที่จะเป็นโรคต้อหิน

Kira-kira 24 jam menjelang demonstrasi pro-Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, anak-anak ketua pembangkang itu merayu kepada penyokongnya agar menyertai acara itu esok.
Dengan penuh bersemangat, Nurul Iman dan Nurul Nuha menyeru masyarakat "bersuara menentang penindasan."
Dalam video di laman rasmi Kita Lawan di Facebook, Nurul Iman berkata esok hari ke-26 bapanya dipenjarakan sebagai "tahanan politik nombor satu" di Malaysia.
"Solidariti ini bukan hanya untuk papa, bukan hanya untuk Anwar Ibrahim tetapi perjuangan ini adalah demi Malaysia yang lebih baik," katanya.

Kakaknya Nurul Nuha pula berkata Anwar dipenjara secara tidak adil kerana seruannya ke arah reformasi, demokrasi dan keadilan.
"Saya menyeru pada anda semua, rakyat yang mencintai Malaysia, untuk bersuara terhadap penindasan, kezaliman dan penyelewengan dan untuk membela mereka yang terpinggir.
"Atas semangat setiakawan, bersama kita berarak untuk Malaysia yang lebih baik," katanya.
Demonstrasi itu akan diadakan mulai 4 petang hingga tengah malam di luar kompleks membeli-belah Sogo.
Bagaimanapun pertemuan awal, mulai 3 petang, diadakan di tiga lokasi - ibu pejabat PAS di Jalan Raja Laut, Pasar Seni dan Masjid Jamek - sebelum mereka berarak ke Sogo.
Selain di ibu negara, himpunan solidariti membantah pemenjaraan ketua pembangkang itu juga akan diadakan di luar negara.
Ia akan berlangsung antaranya di Old Palace Yard, London - berdekatan dengan bangunan Parlimen United Kingdom; di depan Bangunan Parlimen Australia, di Canberra, di depan Parlimen South Australia, di Adelaide dan di Liberty Square di Taipei, Taiwan.

Registrars go as slowly as possible and take a two-hour lunch break. Few manage to register, most of those are denied, but the protest is considered a huge victory by civil rights advocates.July 9, 1964 - Dallas County Circuit Court Judge James Hare issues an injunction effectively forbidding gatherings of three or more people to discuss civil rights or voter registration in Selma.Dec. 28, 1964 - Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. presents the SCLC plan, the "Project for an Alabama Political Freedom Movement," a plan conceived by James Bevel that calls for mass action and voter registration attempts in Selma and Dallas County.Jan. 2, 1965 - King begins his Selma campaign when about 700 African Americans show up for a meeting at Brown Chapel in defiance of the injunction.Jan. 18, 1965 - Black civil rights advocates meet at Brown Chapel. Following speeches and prayers, King and John Lewis lead 300 marchers out of the church. Selma Police Chief Wilson Baker allows them to march in small groups to the courthouse to register despite Hare's injunction, but Sheriff Jim Clark has them line up in an alley beside the courthouse, where they are out of sight, and leaves them there. George C. Wallace bans nighttime demonstrations in Selma and Marion, and assigns 75 troopers to enforce it.Feb. 18, 1965 - State troopers attack marchers during a protest in Marion. State trooper James Bonard Fowler shoots and kills Jimmie Lee Jackson, a 26-year-old deacon of the St. James Baptist Church. Fowler was charged with murder in 2007. He pleaded guilty to second-degree manslaughter in 2010, when he was 67, saying he thought Jackson had been reaching for a weapon. He was sentenced to six months, but was released after five because of failing health.March 5, 1965 - King flies to Washington to speak with President Johnson about the Voting Rights Bill. Then announces the plan for a massive march from Selma to Montgomery.March 6, 1965 - Alabama whites, calling themselves the Concerned White Citizens of Alabama, come to Selma to march in support of black rights. Klan members have followed them into town to protest their march, and the demonstration breaks up as it is clear violence is about to break out.March 7, 1965 - In what would become known as "Bloody Sunday," John Lewis and Hosea Williams lead about 600 people on what is intended to be a march from Selma to Montgomery. But Alabama state troopers, some on horseback, and Clark and his deputies meet the marchers at the Edmund Pettus Bridge. When the marchers refuse to disperse, they are driven back with billy clubs and tear gas, with 16 being hospitalized and at least 50 others injured. The national coverage of the event galvanizes the country, and King calls for volunteers from throughout the nation to come to Selma for another march on March 9.March 8, 1965 - Fred Gray and the SCLC file Hosea Williams v George Wallace before U.S. District Judge Frank M. Johnson Jr. in Montgomery, asking the court to prevent state troopers from blocking the march. Wallace representatives argue that the march should be blocked because it would block roadways, interfering with state commerce and transportation and be a threat to public safety. Johnson, concerned about the safety of the marchers, says the march should be put off until the court can hold a formal hearing and make a decision.March 9, 1965 - Martin Luther King Jr. leads another march to the Edmund Pettus Bridge. About 2,000 people, more than half of them white and about a third members of the clergy, participate in the second march. King leads the march to the bridge, then tells the protesters to disperse. The march becomes known as Turnaround Tuesday.March 9, 1965 - James Reeb, a Unitarian Universalist minister who had come from Boston and marched in the protest earlier in the day, is beaten severely by KKK members. The Islamic State group has begun bulldozing the ancient Assyrian city, the government said, in the jihadists' latest attack on the country's historical heritage.(Photo: Karim Shaib, AFP/Getty Images)BAGHDAD (AP) — Islamic State militants "bulldozed" the renowned archaeological site of the ancient city of Nimrud in northern Iraq on Thursday using heavy military vehicles, the government said.A statement from Iraq's Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities didn't elaborate on the extent of the damage, saying only that the group continues to "defy the will of the world and the feelings of humanity" with this latest act, which came after an attack on the Mosul museum just days earlier.The destruction of the site of one of ancient Mesopotamia's greatest cities recalled the Taliban's annihilation of large Buddha statues in Afghanistan more than a dozen years ago, experts said.Nimrud was the second capital of Assyria, an ancient kingdom that began in about 900 B.C., partially in present-day Iraq, and became a great regional power. The city, which was destroyed in 612 B.C., is located on the Tigris River just south of Iraq's second largest city, Mosul, which was captured by the Islamic State group in June.The late 1980s discovery of treasures in Nimrud's royal tombs was one of the 20th century's most significant archaeological finds. After Iraq was invaded in 2003, archaeologists were relieved when they were found hidden in the country's central Bank — in a secret vault-inside-a-vault submerged in sewage water.The Islamic State extremists, who control a third of Iraq and Syria, have attacked other archaeological and religious sites, claiming that they promote apostasy. Earlier this week, a video emerged on militant websites showing Islamic State militants with sledgehammers destroying ancient artifacts at the Mosul museum, sparking global outrage.Last year, the militants destroyed the Mosque of the Prophet Younis — or Jonah — and the Mosque of the Prophet Jirjis, two revered ancient shrines in Mosul. They also threatened to destroy Mosul's 850-year old Crooked Minaret, but residents surrounded the structure, preventing the militants from approaching.Suzanne Bott, the heritage conservation project director for Iraq and Afghanistan in the University of Arizona's College of Architecture, Planning and Archaeology, worked at Nimrud on and off for two years between 2008 and 2010. She helped stabilize structures and survey Nimrud for the U.S. State Department as part of a joint U.S. military and civilian unit.She described Nimrud as one of four main Assyrian capital cities that practiced medicine, astrology, agriculture, trade and commerce, and had some of the earliest writings."It's really called the cradle of Western civilization, that's why this particular loss is so devastating," Bott said. "What was left on site was stunning in the information it was able to convey about ancient life."People have compared it to King Tut's tomb," she said.Iraq's national museum in Baghdad opened its doors to the public last week for the first time in 12 years in a move Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi said was to defy efforts "to destroy the heritage of mankind and Iraq's civilization."The Islamic State group has imposed a harsh and violent version of Islamic law in the territories it controls and has terrorized religious minorities. It has released gruesome videos online showing the beheading of captives, including captured Western journalists and aid workers.A U.S.-led coalition has been striking the group since August, and Iraqi forces launched an offensive this week to try to retake the militant-held city of Tikrit, on the main road linking Baghdad to Mosul.Jack Green, chief curator of the Oriental Institute Museum at the University of Chicago and expert on Iraqi art, said Thursday that the IS group seems bent on destroying objects they view as idols representing religions and cultures that don't conform to their beliefs."It's the deliberate destruction of a heritage and its images, intended to erase history and the identity of the people of Iraq, whether in the past or the present," Green said.
